Education

  • Children’s Time – A special time for children during each Sunday morning Worship when the pastor or youth pastor provides a brief lesson just for the kids
  • Nursery/Toddler Time – For babies 6 weeks through age 4, a nursery attendant is provided during the worship service
  • Senior Men’s Breakfast – Meets monthly for breakfast at the Carlock Family Restaurant and enjoy fellowship and a bible study lesson
  • Small Groups and Bible Studies– Opportunities for Bible study are scheduled for evenings throughout the year. For exact times, contact the church office or the view the most recent newsletter

 

Outreach and Mission

Carlock Christian Church participates and supports ministries beyond the congregation through hands on projects, special offerings, services and fundraisers.

  • Caring Companions – Provides support to seniors and individuals with limitations in Carlock with such things as rides, friendly visits, light home repair, or snow removal
  • Food Resource Bank – FRB is a Christian response to world hunger that is funded through local growing projects. The Carlock Danvers Growing Project is supported by area churches with money raised going to support programs around the world that promote teaching hungry people to feed themselves. An annual Sundae Sunday ice cream social with homemade ice cream helps raise money for this project
  • Ronald McDonald House –  Prepare and serve meals to patients and their families at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois
  • Special Projects – Donations are collected and shared for special projects such as disaster relief and prison ministries as the needs arise

 

Fellowship

The Congregational Life Committee provides for a rich celebration of Disciple spirit through many fellowship opportunities throughout the year. Carlock Christian Church shares in a number of ministry opportunities with area congregations. Watch the Newsletter and Calendar for upcoming events.

  • God’s Little Acre Pre-School – Housed at North Danvers Mennonite Church
  • Vacation Bible School – Held at Carlock Christian Church for a weekend over the summer to allow kids a chance to explore their relationship with God in a fun and safe setting
  • Community Worship Services – usually for Pentecost, Thanksgiving, Ash Wednesday and Good Friday
  • Local Food Pantry – The local food pantry is supported by the Carlock and Danvers churches
  • Back Pack Program – Provides a needed meal to elementary children over the weekend which is sent home in their school back pack
  • Trunk or Treat – Every Halloween the church sponsors a trunk or treat event its parking lot in combination with other community organizations. This is open to the entire community with free food, drinks, and family fun.
